Lead-Free Pewter Bar - 200g

Sold out
£16.70

This is a metal alloy used for pewter casting. Most modern pewters generally consists of 95% tin (Sn), 4-5% antimony (Sb), and 0.5-1% copper (Cu). This pewter is lead-free, unlike some lower grade and older pewters, which means it is non-toxic, food friendly and won't cause problems with allergies or sensitive skin when used for making jewellery.

The small quantities of copper and antimony are added to act as hardeners to the tin in pewter. Pewter has a a low melting temperature at around 247–290°C.
