This additive reduces the surface tension of water within the acrylic film, increasing flow so artists can apply flat, even areas of colour without affecting colour strength. Its enhanced flow makes it especially useful for masking techniques, as paint settles smoothly against taped edges, and for fluid, gestural watercolour-style applications. Flow Improver is also the preferred medium for staining techniques. It should be used sparingly—only in the amount needed to achieve the desired effect.
